Island Hopping in the Sea of Cortez, Mexico • Ordinary Traveler

The Sea of Cortez is Baja California’s own little slice of paradise, known for its crystal-clear waters, unique coastal landscapes, and exclusive — even interactive — sea life!

This was one of my favorite solo trips last year. I visited the countryside in Switzerland (a dream come true for me), set up my tripod in precarious places and took some fun “selfie” shots. I get a lot of emails asking for my suggestions on the best places to travel, so I’ve added this photo (with the exact location) along with tons of my favorite travel destinations into my most recent Trover list to help you with your 2018 vacation planning! -->

We've been all over the world and I'm still blown away by how much natural beauty can be found right here in our home country. It's a great reminder that it's not about how far we travel or how many countries we visit; there's so much beauty everywhere around us and we don't have to travel very far to find it.

"It would be good to live in a perpetual state of leave-taking, never to go nor to stay, but to remain suspended in that golden emotion of love and longing; to be loved without satiety."

Ocean Club Resorts

👋 from Ocean Club Resorts in Turks and Caicos! 😍👌

T&C has been one of my dream destinations and I'm so excited to finally be here!!

What is your dream destination?

Um... how is everything so adorable in Turks and Caicos? #OceanClubResorts

Just arrived at Ocean Club Resorts in Turks and Caicos and my condo looks like my dream beach house. Those ceilings!! 😍

I'm on a mission these past several weeks to crush old, limiting beliefs by immersing myself in how I want to think and feel. I'm so tired of the yo yo of going back and forth between old fear-based thought patterns that I've been told to believe and the ones that I know deep down in my heart. This has been the ultimate struggle for most of my adult life -- realizing that everything is here to help me even during those times when it feels like life is beating the crap out of me. It's time for a paradigm shift and I am SO ready. ✌️

What about you? Do you feel like you've learned how to stay positive even through the tough times in life? I know it's easy to recite positive quotes but to really live it... that is a different story. I know many people struggle with this as well and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the subject.

A question I try to remember to ask myself every morning is "how am I so lucky?" Your brain is constantly asking questions -- whether you realize it or not -- so why not steer it in the direction of asking questions that focus on abundance rather than lack. The quality of your life comes down to what you choose to focus on. Do you focus on what you have or what you don't have?

Solo sunrise at JW Marriott Hotel Guanacaste Resort & Spa 👌

I had originally planned this trip with one of my besties, but she was forced to cancel due to airplane mechanical issues and a missed connection. Since I've spent most of my trips solo the past few months, I was really looking forward to some girlfriend time. Anyway, I'm making the best of it -- which is definitely not tough to do here. 😉

Good morning from JW Marriott Hotel Guanacaste Resort & Spa in Costa Rica!

Solo vacay in Italy! 🙌

When you don't have anyone to take your photos on vacation, it's easy enough to set up a tripod. I've even set up my tripod in a few precarious places.

I used to be embarrassed to take photos of myself like this while traveling solo, but I have no shame anymore. I was tired of always coming home with ZERO photos with myself in them and I've actually met a few people because of it. They are always interested in how I do it all on my own.

Sailing Croatia With Yacht Getaways • Ordinary Traveler

A week spent sailing the turquoise waters of the Adriatic Sea and exploring lush, coastal Croatia sounds likes a dream vacation, but where to start?

Who's been to Greece? From a reader who would love your recommendations: -->> "Looking at Crete, Mykonos and Athens. I want a villa as there will be 6 or 7 of us. Pool, ocean view and somewhere close to bars and restaurants. Anyone have any input or better choices?"

Part of what I love about this Monograms trip I'm on is the combo of free time and tours. During my first day in Lake Como, I joined a short, 1 hour tour to get an overview of the area -- which is when I first saw this church. I came back here today at sunrise because the lighting was better than when I first walked here with my tour guide.
